2026-2027 IMS Board of Directors Announced Election process brings new physician leaders to the board to guide strategy, strengthen patient care and address the state’s physician shortage crisis DES MOINES, Iowa – Lillian Erdahl, MD of Iowa City has been installed as president of the Iowa Medical Society (IMS), leading the 2026-2027 IMS Board of Directors, which includes newly elected physician leaders from across the state working to strengthen patient care and support physicians in Iowa. Erdahl was inaugurated during the IMS President’s Dinner on April 17, 2026, in Iowa City. IMS members elected the new board members, who were installed during the IMS board reorganization meeting on April 18 in Iowa City. The newly elected/appointed board members include: Clay Dahlquist, DO, Waverly Abby Davison, M3, medical student director, University of Iowa Health Care, Iowa City Jeremy Granger, MD, Sioux City John Jones, MD, chair of policy forum, Sioux City Douglas Martin, MD, AMA board chair, Sioux City Nick Maxfield, OMS II, medical student director, Des Moines University, West Des Moines Angela Olerich, DO, Webster City They join returning members of the IMS leadership team.
