Medicaid MCO Transition Assistance

July 1 marked the scheduled transition of Medicaid administrators within the managed care system with UnitedHealthcare (UHC) ending active benefit administration and Iowa Total Care (ITC) beginning active patient operations.

The Department of Human Services has issued Informational Letter 2023-MC-FFS, which outlines several of the transitional details to help practices close out UHC claims, initiate participation in the ITC provider network, and support patient transitions.

If your practice needs assistance with any issues during this time, please contact Dennis Tibben, Director of External Affairs with the IMS Center for Physician Advocacy.
