IMS Nominating Committee
Seeking Candidates


The IMS Nominating Committee is seeking candidates for election to the following positions:

IMS Board of Directors (term starts April 18, 2020)

  • At-Large Director: 4 positions to be elected for 3-year terms
  • Resident Director:1 position to be elected for a 1-year term
  • Medical Student Director: 1 position to be elected for a 1-year term
  • Speaker, Policy Forum: 1 position to be appointed for a 3-year term

AMA Delegation (term starts January 1, 2021)

  • AMA Delegate: 2 positions to be elected for a 2-year term

Interested members should first ensure they are able to attend the respective meetings. The IMS Board of Directors meets five (5) times per year. Members of the Board also serve as the Policy Forum, which meets twice per year immediately following adjournment of a board meeting. The Policy Forum is the policy setting body for the IMS. The schedule for the next two program years is:

  • April 17-18, 2020 - Presidential Reception/Reorganization Meeting, Cedar Rapids
  • July 10-11, 2020 - Board of Directors Meeting/Retreat, TBD
  • September 16-17, 2020 - Board of Directors Meeting and Policy Forum, Des Moines
  • December 8-9, 2020 - Board of Directors Meeting, Des Moines
  • February 25-26, 2021 - Board of Directors Meeting, Des Moines
  • April 16-17, 2021 - Board of Directors Meeting/Presidential Reception/Reorganization Meeting, Des Moines
  • July 16-17, 2021 - Board of Directors Meeting/Retreat, TBD
  • September 9-10, 2021 - Board of Directors Meeting and Policy Forum, Des Moines
  • December 8-9, 2021 - Board of Directors Meeting, Des Moines

For physicians interested in serving as an AMA Delegate, the American Medical Association House of Delegates meets two times per year. The scheduled dates for next year in the term being elected are:

  • June 12-16, 2021 - Chicago, IL
  • Nov. 13-16, 2021 - San Diego, CA

 The IMS Nominating Committee members include:
