Burnout Resiliency Programming in Atlantic, Iowa

On Tuesday, IMS made its way to Atlantic to host its monthly Burnout Awareness Program in conjunction with Iowa Pharmacy Association. Tammy Rogers, co-founder of The Meyvn Group, facilitated the night. Attendees discussed levels of burnout including how to recognize the warning signs, how to mitigate burnout as a leader, and how it effects the entire organization.

With three more sessions this year, IMS and IPA are excited to continue with the regional Awareness Program going in to 2020!

The Iowa Medical Society focuses strongly on provider burnout and physician wellness to retain and care for the great health care providers in Iowa. Burnout is not a personal issue, it is a systematic issue, and leadership is a big part of the equation. IMS will also be hosting Leading Without Leading to Burnout, a two day session on November 12 & 13 at the Kirkwood hotel in Cedar Rapids. During the session participants will:

  • Identify Leadership behaviors that result in burnout
  • Recognize how leadership has contributed to employee burnout in the past
  • Determine what leadership needs to do differently
  • Discover tools and techniques to lead without leading to burnout
  • Develop a personal plan of action
