New MCO Enters Iowa Market

Iowa Total Care will begin serving the Iowa Medicaid population effective July 1, 2019. Iowa’s newest Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) is a subsidiary of Centene, and brings more than 30 years of Medicaid benefits administration to the Iowa market.

The State recently finalized its contract with Iowa Total Care (ITC), which means it will now begin development of its provider network. Iowa Total Care is motivated to begin the contracting process as soon as possible to ensure efficiency and avoid the issues that plagued the expedited implementation of previous Medicaid MCOs. Expect to hear from a member of ITC’s network management team shortly, if you haven’t already!

Practices interested in learning more about Iowa Total Care or beginning the contracting process are encouraged to visit the ITC website. You may also contact its network management team directly at (855) 688-6589 or via email. For additional assistance with any Medicaid managed care issue, please contact Dennis Tibben with the IMS Center for Physician Advocacy.
