IMS Goes to Washington!

Published on February 16, 2018

IMS Leadership NACThis week, IMS physician leaders and staff traveled to Washington, DC, to participate in the AMA’s National Advocacy Conference (NAC). On the heels of the announcement that Congress has reached a long-term spending deal, which will restore Medicare policies including the temporary 1.0 Physician Work (PW) GPCI floor and further extend CHIP authorization through 2027, this trip proved to be quite timely. IMS leaders met with nearly every member of Iowa’s Congressional Delegation, thanking them for their support of these critical programs, as well as their support for the permanent, bipartisan GPCI fix legislation.

Looking forward, IMS discussed strategy with our federal representatives and their staff for tackling two pressing issues facing our state’s healthcare system:

Check out a few of the photos from the conference! For more information on the issues discussed at this year’s National Advocacy Conference, please contact Dennis Tibben with the IMS Center for Physician Advocacy.
