CMS Responds to Physician Concerns About ICD-10 Transition
Date of Publication (June 17, 2015)
On March 4, 2015, IMS was a signatory on a letter the American Medical Association (AMA) sent to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding concerns about CMS’ transition plan to ICD-10. The AMA recently received a response from CMS to this letter. Additionally, in a recent meeting with CMS, agency officials expressed interest in continuing a dialogue about implementation issues.
At the AMA’s Annual Meeting earlier this month, their House of Delegates passed policy calling for the AMA to pursue a two-year grace period for implementing ICD-10. The AMA will continue to press the Administration and Congress to establish a glide path for ICD-10 implementation.
