- Virtual & In-Person Event -
Join your peers from across the state to ensure the physician community has a strong, united voice in the legislative process. IMS is continuing to fight for a hard cap on noneconomic damages to curb the recent trend of record judgments against Iowa physicians and Iowa practices. Join us for a virtual, on-demand briefing regarding this work, then connect directly with your elected representatives either in-person or virtually to make your voice heard!
Issues Briefing & Advocacy Training: Virtual, On-Demand
IMS leadership and advocacy staff will provide a virtual update regarding the fight for a hard cap on noneconomic damages, as well as tips and tricks for effective conversations with legislators. This on-demand recording will be emailed to registrants on the weekend before Physician Day on the Hill. Staff will be available to help answer any questions you might have as you’re preparing for your legislative visits.
Meet Your Legislators:
In Person Visits:
Remember to wear your white coat as we return for an in-person, grassroots advocacy event this year!
2:00-4:00 pm: Capitol Reception & Legislative Visits
IMS will be hosting an afternoon reception in the capitol rotunda to provide an informal opportunity for you to speak with legislators about the issues impacting your practice. Staff will be on hand to help facilitate legislative discussions and to answer any questions you may have. Additional information regarding parking and other logistics, as well as the virtual, on-demand briefing will be emailed to registrants.
Make your voice heard even if you’re unable to travel to the state capitol. Contact your legislators before February 8 to schedule a time to speak that day or any day that week. Remember to still register for the event to receive the latest information from our virtual, on-demand briefing. Staff are available to help you identify your individual legislators and schedule your virtual visit.
