Rewriting Your Plan for Physician Recruitment

Physician RecruitmentRecruiting physicians is not as easy as placing an advertisement in the classified section of the local newspaper. It takes effort on the part of those recruiting physicians to meet the needs of patients, established physicians in the practice and physicians being recruited. This webinar series will discuss what every physician recruiter needs to know to increase their recruiting efforts, hire physicians that will fit into the landscape of the clinic, and retain physicians to help the clinic grow.

Seminar cost is $149 for IMS members and their staff or $298 for non-member physicians.

First Session

Recruiting physicians is a lot like purchasing a luxury automobile - you don't just stroll into a dealership, point to the first car you see and drive it off the lot. Most of us do some serious research first before we make such an investment. Recruiters also need to do their homework when recruiting physicians, especially specialists. You need to know the size of your candidate pool, where these physicians are located, what the current pay scale is and what your clinic or hospital can offer. This session will give you the resources you need to find the right information and begin a successful recruiting effort.

  • Discuss how national and state economic factors and shortages can affect recruiting.
  • Explain the challenges faced by Iowa clinics in recruiting physician partners.

Second Session

Researching and finding physician candidates to interview may be the easiest part of recruiting. The most difficult part is often enticing the physician and/or their spouse to join your practice. This session will outline the dos and don'ts of interviewing and help you describe the positive aspects of the job and your community for your candidate. Following this webinar, recruiters will have a game plan in place that will improve their odds at landing and retaining the right physician.

  • Describe common errors made by recruiters in the interview process.
  • Explain methods that can make the interview process go smoothly for the recruits and the clinic.
  • Discuss how to retain physicians to ensure continued growth.
