TRICARE announces it will not challenge government's decision on contract

A new company will be taking over the West Region TRICARE contract next April. TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr. has written a letter (PDF 79KB) to all providers who currently accept TRICARE in the western U.S., informing them of this change and what's to come next. In the letter, McIntyre says there is "no greater privilege than being of service to our fellow citizens." He also thanks participating physicians for being part of the provider network and he says the company "simply could not have done our work without you... work for which we received a hard earned "Exceptional" performance rating."
