Dr. Robert Lee installed as President of the Iowa Medical Society

Robert Lee, MD, was installed as President of the Iowa Medical Society at the organization's annual meeting in Des Moines. Dr. Lee is a family medicine physician from Johnston. In addition, Victoria Sharp, MD, Iowa City, was elected President-elect. The Board also elected Jeffrey Maire, DO, Des Moines, to serve on the Executive Committee as Board Chair and K. John Hartman, MD, Davenport, was elected to serve on the Executive Committee as Secretary/Treasurer.
In addition, the 2012 House of Delegates elected several new board members and considered two reports and eight resolutions (PDF 73).
In other election news, Douglas Steenblock, MD, Marshalltown, was elected as the new District 2 Director and Marygrace Elson, MD, Iowa City, was elected as District 3 Director.
In addition, Joyce Vista-Wayne, MD, Des Moines, was elected to an At-large Director position, and K. John Hartman, MD, Davenport, was re-elected to an At-large Director position. John David Welander, MD, R3, Des Moines, MD, was elected to serve as Resident Director and Anne Michael Langguth, M2, Iowa City was re-elected to serve as the Medical Student Director.

The House also elected Paul Mulhausen, MD, Iowa City, as Speaker of the House and Janice Kirsch, MD, Mason City, as Vice Speaker.
AMA Delegates (effective January 1, 2013)
Carole Frier, DO, Des Moines was re-elected as a Delegate to the American Medical Association, and Michael Kitchell was elected as an AMA Delegate.
AMA Alternate Delegate (effective January 1, 2013)
Curtis Page, MD, Dubuque was elected as an AMA Alternate Delegate.
Nominating Committee
Robert Anderson, MD, Bettendorf was elected to the IMS Nominating Committee.
